The LOST Lombi
A powerful new play about finding the strength within to stand tall like a tree.
It tells the story of three women connected by blood, spanning over three generations.
One yearning. One running. One with a calling. Each must go on a journey if they are to find peace and resolution within themselves.
With themes on identity, the recruitment of child soldiers in the DRC, the generational trauma of war, the necessity of belonging and the importance of forgiveness.
‘This really has been, and remains to be a labour of love’

A bit of background…
-
The Lost Lombi production began in a West London gallery, The Muse on Portobello Road, with a minimalist set utilising art chosen by artists who had previously exhibited their work in the space. Further collaborations with a composer, sound engineer, and cinematographer helped evolve the production into a multimedia venture, assembling digital media, textiles and painting to create authenticity. The production evolved with a cast who broke through the forth wall together and built a family that prevails today. With popular acclaim the producers and director of the play evolved the production from a venture to showcase new material and raise funds for War Child, to an independent vehicle occupying innovative spaces in West London, touring with the cast to expand the limits of what’s possible and how the immersive potential of the play can take shape.

The LOST Lombi had its debut in October 2023 at the Muse Gallery with a sell out run. Due to high demand, we returned in January 2024.
After this, the writers revisited the script and wrote new scenes. The production then hosted a play-read in front of a new audience to ensure the new scenes worked, and are now ready to bring this script further to the stage for a four week run in February 2025.
